A place, before a material.
We run active quarries in La Floresta (Les Garrigues), Alcañiz (Teruel) and Folgueroles (Osona). The block comes to our workshop in Els Omellons, where we saw and finish it.
Stone has been quarried in Les Garrigues for centuries with techniques much like today’s. That continuous activity has made the area known for its sandstone quarries, many of them family-run.
Sandstone is a sedimentary rock: sand that time has compacted and cemented bed by bed. That is why every bed has its own tone and grain, and why we choose the bed with the building in mind.
From block to piece
Extraction
We take the block out whole with rock drills and diamond wire saws, choosing beds by the grain and tone of the stone.
Cutting
In our Els Omellons workshop we saw the block with wire saws and gang saws into slabs from 2 to 100 cm, sheets and pieces to measure.
Finishing
Honed, bush-hammered, sandblasted or brushed: the surface decides how light falls on it and how the façade will age.
Delivery
We prepare and load the pieces with vacuum-lift cranes that protect them. We also load containers for export.

Continuous supply
Several active quarries mean a constant flow of stone: we can supply without interruption and with the shortest possible lead times.
Less dust
We have added equipment at the quarry that reduces dust emissions into the surroundings.
Land restored
We restore the land affected by extraction and try to keep our impact on the natural environment to a minimum.
